There was virtually no break in period.I bought them in March of 2009 and they are still holding together today except I have nearly worn the bottom layer of rubber off the boot and they have cracked at the ball of the foot letting water soak in.

So far so good... I picked these up for work, a couple of weeks ago, where site visits are regular and steel toes are a must. Out of the box, they have been extremely comfortable with a minimal break in period.
